Most enterprises are facing exponential growth in low priority, batch, or replication traffic for applications such as electronic mail, Notes and Internet access. This high volume traffic is crowding out business critical transaction traffic on the constricted bandwidth available from traditional data communications networks. On the other hand, voice network costs are continuing to fall and will continue to do so given the competitive market, voice over Internet developments and IP transmission technologies. These are global trends. We work closely with the client team to understand long-term growth and application deployments requirements; we survey vendor and product changes in the market; and collect client information about existing costs, inventories, traffic and network topologies. This information is aggregated into a conceptual network design during interactive planning sessions with the client. A Statement of Requirements is then drafted to describe the optimized solution that will meet the Business, Financial and Technical requirements for the current network at significantly reduced costs. The recommended solutions are typically presented to senior management for funding approval to proceed. This approval begins the competitive bid procurement process. In this process, we focus on local area, metropolitan area and wide area network solutions on a global basis.
